Kozhikode Medical College ICU harassment case: IG did not keep his word, victim going on strike again

harassment-

KOZHIKODE: Victim of Kozhikode Medical College ICU harassment case to go on strike again from today. This is because IG K Sethuraman's assurance that the police investigation report will be submitted within three days was not fulfilled. The strike that started in front of the City Police Commissioner's office demanding an investigation report was ended on the 24th with the assurance of the IG. The strike is set to resume as there has been no response even after five days. The victim will meet the IG again today. The victim said that the strike will continue if the report is not received.

Chief minister's office had instructed North Region IG K Sethuraman to investigate the victim's complaint on the 22nd. It was also directed to submit a report within 15 days after the investigation into the strike and the delay in the investigation report. The victim was molested while undergoing treatment at the Medical College Hospital on March 18, 2023. The victim lodged a complaint with the police alleging that the statement recorded by Dr KV Preeta in the incident did not accurately record many of the things she said, scientific evidence was not collected and an attempt is being made to sabotage the case. However, the report given by Medical College ACP K Sudarshan to the commissioner was that there was no basis for the complaint. A copy of this was not received despite a request under the Right to Information Act. This was followed by an open strike by the victim.
